In August, the Helm team took a well-earned break from project plans, cost reports and deadlines for our annual summer social, and this year, we headed to Newcastle Racecourse for an afternoon at the races.

It was a great opportunity for the team to step away from the day-to-day and enjoy some time together in a more relaxed setting. With plenty of good food, drinks and conversation, there was certainly no shortage of team spirit throughout the afternoon.

Unfortunately, our success on the day didn’t quite match our project management record! After a few questionable selections and some optimistic predictions, we decided that perhaps our expertise is better suited to project and cost management than picking winners!

The day was a great chance to celebrate the hard work of the team and enjoy some time together outside the office. At Helm, we value the relationships we build not only with our clients and project teams, but also within our own team, and our summer social was a great reminder of the importance of taking time to connect and enjoy working together.

We may not have left Newcastle Racecourse with any winnings, but we certainly left with some great memories.
