GenesisCare consider it important to ensure patients receive the best care possible which is why they set out to review the reaction to the new facilities at Cambridge as well as Windsor. To achieve this aim, guided focus groups with patients was commissioned.

Patients described the new environment and what it feels like to be treated there: ‘’it used to calm me down. I looked forward to it actually’’, ‘’I could live here’’, ‘’Calm, focussed on me, a Haven.’’ Patients also described the new centres as ‘’peaceful, smart, hotel-like, home-like, light, soft and spacious.’’ Other comments included: ‘’it’s not institutional, you feel you are special in here, it didn’t look like a hospital, it gave a very positive feeling, the place calmed you down immediately.’’
