Helm supported Merchant Place Developments in delivering Phase 1 of Merchant Park, a key regeneration scheme located at Merchant Park in County Durham. Acting as Project Manager, Employer’s Agent and Cost Manager, Helm played a central role in ensuring the successful delivery of over 53,000 sq ft of high-quality logistics warehouse accommodation, carefully balancing cost, quality, and programme to meet the client’s commercial objectives.
The first phase establishes a strong benchmark for future development and forms part of a wider masterplan projected to create over 1,100 new jobs, significantly enhancing the North East’s industrial and logistics capability.
Delivered through a collaborative approach alongside FW Capital, Hall Construction, Ryder Architecture, Building Design Northern and Thornley & Lumb Partnership, the project demonstrates how effective teamwork, clear communication, and strong commercial management can drive successful outcomes and meaningful regional economic impact.
