Helm provided project and cost management services for the major refurbishment of a distinguished Victorian detached villa in Gosforth. The project focused on restoring and reinstating period features throughout the property while carefully integrating modern upgrades to create a high-quality, future-ready family home.
The refurbishment involved stripping away unsympathetic alterations and implementing a series of carefully planned interventions and extensions. Internally, the works included significant upgrades to the thermal envelope, enhancing sustainability and energy efficiency for the long term. In addition to essential remedial works, the project incorporated carefully considered alterations and extensions to improve functionality while preserving the villa’s historic character.
One of the villa’s standout features, the timber loggia on the front elevation, was carefully repaired to protect and maintain the historic fabric of the building. Throughout the project, Helm ensured that all interventions respected the property’s heritage, delivering a seamless balance between preservation and modern living standards.
This project demonstrates Helm’s expertise in managing sensitive, high-quality residential refurbishments, providing clients with confidence in programme, cost, and design outcomes.
